Just sort of warming up, here.

I’m calling this a “warm-up,” since I’m really working on a much bigger job. Still, this taught me some things, and finishing it freed up a watercolour board.
It was actually possible, yesterday, to sit on the balcony and draw this little postal van, illegally parked across the street. The above is a tiny little thing, but the colours are pretty.
I have no idea what that backdrop means, but I’m happier with the painted characters.
This is me, working on colour and light in a purely digital format. I’m trying to limit my palette. And still keep it interesting.
At least I think that’s where it is. I didn’t write down the name of the street when I snapped the photo I painted this from.
One of the nice things about digital painting, which I think I’ve said before, is that it’s infinitely workable. This picture was sitting around for a while, looking lousy, but came to life for me with the leather jacket and streak of purple.
