A woman in an evening dress really has nothing to do with a guy leading a horse around, but that’s what you get when you start drawing on a big sheet of watercolour paper. At least this stuff is a little more resistant to “cockling” than my usual sketchbook paper, even though it’s not stretched. I think Jim Woodring uses this kind of paper for his watercolours. These are far away from his, but he said a nice thing once about one of my pictures.
