This Always Happens…
By Jack Ruttan in cats, dogs, men, montreal, sketches, womenI’ve been in a bit of a mood lately, and not posting much. But still drawing things. Some of which are clever, or all right. I’ve actually got 3 comic strips on the go, which I’d like to finish. Those, of course, are all brilliant. We’ll see. In the meantime, because Easter weekend was warm, […]

Big Ugly Face
By Jack Ruttan in men, sketches…that I drew last night when I couldn’t sleep. Don’t know if he helped, but he reflected my mood. I like how the drawings on the back of the paper show through.

Painted Pair
By Jack Ruttan in men, sketches, watercolour, womenI’m happy with this new-fangled green painter’s tape, which is a little less sticky than normal masking tape. But it can be left on, and also comes off without residue. Mind you, it doesn’t make things square for you. You still have to do that yourself.

Cat Violence
By Jack Ruttan in cats, ruttan's place, sketchesCats are slime. Little cat this morning woke me up by knocking over books and a fan, as above. I’m sure she thought she was awesome. Below is a rendering of cat violence at its worst, chez Ruttan. The large cat, Mr. Boggedy, thwacks with his eyes closed, which is a little ineffectual. But he’s […]

Pugs, and Skeleton Dude
By Jack Ruttan in dogs, montreal, sketches, womenI haven’t been posting very much! Sorry. Haven’t been in the mood. I like this drawing of a woman and her pug, however. Something extra. I’ve been seeing these little cutouts of this skeleton dude and his toaster around the neighbourhood. Snapping them with my camera, before they get taken down, because these things don’t […]

Things I Saw
By Jack Ruttan in horses, men, sketchesSome of them in my mind. I did see a walking guy with a moustache, and some form of skyline. A Hercules plane flew over, but a James Bond jeep didn’t fall out. I saw Kate Beaton ponies on the web. Guess the figures will now be a valuable collectors item. That’s all for now.

Learning Experience
By Jack Ruttan in sketchesI’m not too fond of this, though it’s big, and was a lot of work. Well, more planning next time, rather than just drawing things to fit a page. Next ones will be better!

More New Stuff, and Renovations, Too.
By Jack Ruttan in cats, men, sketches, watercolourNew stuff. I guess kind of the same, but I like it like that. I’m also enjoying some of the new gadgets on the blog. Don’t want to make it too busy. I tried a couple of new themes, but didn’t like them as much as this one. This one was pretty old, and didn’t […]

Warm and Sunny Day
By Jack Ruttan in cats, dogs, men, sketches, womenIt was such, yesterday when I drew these, and it’s another such today. Happy to draw real animals, etc, from my balcony. Other people are TV and DVD-inspired faces. Not so bad, but I’m waiting for people to start walking by looking less frozen and bundled up.
