Taped off a few big rectangles in the sketch book, and painted them with watercolours. Will try to vary the palettes a little more next time.

Page of Draw-rings
By Jack Ruttan in color, Coloured Pencils, pencil, sketchesI used to post here once a day. Now I’m guilty of drawing many drawings, even ones I think of as good ones, and not putting them up. Forgive me!
Colour Schemes
By Jack Ruttan in color, digital, sketchesThis morning I doodled four very tiny (one by two inch) rectangles on my computer, just trying different colours, and seeing how they go together. One nice thing about the computer is that it has an infinite colour palette. I’m going to try this again, looking at some interesting old paintings in books, or on […]

Mainly to do with the new “Star Wars” movie, which I finally saw, and “Emma” by Jane Austen. Star Wars had some pleasant new characters, but it was basically a rehash of the same old plot. I mean where did they find the time and materials to build a […]
Doot Doot
By Jack Ruttan in color, digital, headsFeeling uninspired, which might be clear from this image. But at least my digital technique is getting better. Things seem to go up and down. I should really be doing watercolours, but I need better self-motivation.

By Jack Ruttan in color, Coloured Pencils, pencil, sketches, watercolor, watercolourThe lighting is nicer here, and gives a better image. These are some drawings I did while watching (or thinking of) old things. Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice, and the movie Barry Lyndon. Watercolour pencils.
